An Austrian SME has developed an innovative photonic based sensor for online identification and classification of both small flakes/impurities and larger pieces in plastic recycling. Advantages over current systems are an identification speed of up to 4 m/s, high resolution, possible band-conveyor width adjustment, no heat energy released or safety precautions required. The company seeks an industrial partner interested in joint further development, technical cooperation or a licence agreement.
