A Catalan company is looking for new chemotherapeutic agent in the treatment of Tuberculosis, active and/or latent Tuberculosis. The new treatment should represent an advantage over the current treatments, for example in terms of efficacy, improvement of administration, etc.

New treatments for (multiresistant tuberculosis) are also desirable. Technologies for acquisition, license and/or other types of collaborations are sought.

Details:

Tuberculosis is a very important disease, which has increased its prevalence in the last years.

The current chemotherapeutical agents are very old and with a lot of side effects. Furthermore the treatments must be very long and it is very difficult for patients to follow the compliance to the treatment.

On the other hand, in a very high percentage of patients after finishing the treatment the disease remains latent, without symptoms, but with a high possibility to be transmitted.

In other cases and certain types of tuberculosis it is seen a multiresistant behavior in front of the current existing treatments.

So, new chemotherapeutical agents are needed in terms of increasing efficacy, reduce side effects, reduce the time of treatments o reduce the multiresistant effect.

The Catalan company is looking for a company making research in this field to stablish an international cooperation, which can be acquisition agreement, joint-venture agreement, license agreement, research cooperation agreement or subcontracting.
